After over 30 years in the practice of law, primarily self-employed, in a small office, I have acquired a keen understanding and appreciation of what clients expect from their lawyers.  Their needs are quite simple.  They want someone who will listen to their problems, speak to them in a direct and plain manner, while utilizing the most cost effective and practical means to protect and promote their best interests.  Clients also require that all their inquiries and/or questions be addressed through the prompt return of telephone calls.  In short, clients want a lawyer who is attentive, accessible, affordable and compassionate.  Finally, it has also been my experience that the best attorney/client relationships are developed when the client is an active and cooperative participant in their case, providing input and feedback when necessary.
